Olde English District : ウィキペディア英語版 | Olde English District
The Olde English District is one of eleven tourism districts〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=South Carolina Association of Tourism Regions )〕 of South Carolina encompassing Chester, Chesterfield, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lancaster, and York counties as well as the cities and towns of Camden, Chester, Chesterfield, Clover, Kershaw, Lancaster, Pageland, Rock Hill, Winnsboro, and York. The district is not a historical one. It was created in 1976 by the state legislature in order to create and improve tourism, recreation and development in the included counties.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=South Carolina General Assembly Bill 853 )〕 Its name came about due to the region being settled by the English in the 1770s.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Olde English District )〕 The area was the site of a number of Revolutionary War battles including the Battle of Kings Mountain. ==External links==
